Mom came to Philly early Saturday morning. Picked her up at the train.
Kids were ecstatic to see her. Lots of shrieking.
Mom seemed surprised that Minami was so clingy, but she'd lived her whole life with Mom until a few weeks ago. Separation was probably a lot like losing a parent for Minami.
Sunday morning we went to Lancaster and spent the day at Poppa's. Noah and I had some quality outdoor time while Tomomi and Minami accompanied Mom on a shopping trip to all the old favorites: Giant, Marshall's, CVS, etc.
Yesterday was the big Labor Day barbecue. Played lots of badminton (including not surprisingly being crushed by Tomomi), ate good food (took home 18 ears of LanCo corn), and got Ed to help me fix my 10-speed. The brakes are greatly improved, the seat is fixed, and the handlebar tape is hideous. I'm so pleased! Nobody will ever want to steal this bike with handlebar tape like that!
